Description
This granary, located approximately 50 meters north of Ibstone Manor Farmhouse, was originally a dovecote and is likely from the mid 18th century. It is constructed of flint with brick quoins and window surrounds, topped with a pyramid roof made of 20th-century asbestos slates. The building is a square block with two storeys. There is a door on the east side that has a later brick surround, and another door on the first floor of the west side with its original brick surround. A louvred square opening can be found on the south side at the first floor. The interior features chalk-lined walls with nesting boxes, although those on the ground floor have been blocked. Most of the tiled ledges have been removed, and an upper floor has been inserted, which includes grain bins.
