Description
Rookery Farmhouse is an early 18th-century brick farmhouse with a half-hipped roof covered in old tiles. It retains timber-framed cross walls and trusses within. The building consists of three bays and a first floor, with a projecting rear wing extending from the right-hand bay. The north front features an off-centre entrance door. The ground floor has casement windows; two windows are located in the centre bay, with a sash window in the left bay. The right-hand bay incorporates a reused oak-framed, six-light ovolo mullioned and framed window with leaded lights, dating from around 1600. A stack with a moulded cap is situated between the left-hand bays, and there are three gabled eaves dormers. The right-hand flank shows a three-light upper casement above a four-light ground floor window. The brickwork exhibits a chequer pattern, and most window openings have segmental heads. Internally, the farmhouse has chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, old board doors, splat balusters to the staircase, and purlin braces to the roof.
