Description

Dibblock Cottage is a house, originally two dwellings, dating back to the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. The west front is timber-framed with brick infill, while the east front has been rebuilt using red brick. The roof is tiled, with a half-hipped section to the south. The house is in two blocks, each two bays wide, with a central brick chimney. The two bays to the left of the east front are one-and-a-half storeys high, featuring wooden casement windows with horizontal glazing bars – a four-light window with a segmental head on the ground floor, and a two-light window in a gabled dormer. There is a half-glazed door with a segmental head on the right, and a blocked door on the left. The two bays to the right have raised eaves and two storeys, featuring paired 20th-century wooden casement windows on the ground floor and three-light casements above. A boarded door sits on the right, with a blocked door to the left. All openings in the right bays have cambered heads. The rear of the property has irregular barred wooden casement windows. The interior retains diagonal braces, main trusses, and stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
