Description

Orchard Farmhouse is a 17th-century house that has been altered over time. It is timber-framed with colourwashed render infill, and has an old tile roof with a chimney constructed of red and vitreous brick where two wings meet. The house is arranged in an L-shape and has one storey and an attic. The front of the house, facing the road, has two bays with a four-light casement window on the ground floor to the left, and gabled dormers in the eaves. There are two single-light windows on the ground floor to the right. The north-western front has a gabled projection to the left, with a single casement window on the front and a 20th-century door in the right return wall. A wing set back to the left has two three-light casements on the ground floor and a four-light casement in a gabled dormer. Inside, there is a chimney stack constructed of dressed stone and chamfered spine beams.
