Description
The Bell is a public house that dates back to the 17th and 18th centuries and has undergone alterations. The right gable is constructed of red brick with timber framing in the upper part, while the rest of the building is rendered and colourwashed. The front range features band courses at the first floor and below the eaves, topped with a 20th-century tiled roof and a rendered chimney on the left. The building is arranged in an L-plan, with the front range comprising two storeys and three bays, including a gabled projection on the right. The windows are barred wooden types, with four-light casements on the right, a two-light window in the centre of the first floor, and a three-light window to the upper left above a tripartite sash. The central entrance has a 20th-century door with a radiating semi-circular fanlight. There is a lower bay attached to the right. The 17th-century wing at the rear is one and a half storeys high, featuring an old three-light leaded casement window in thatch on the upper floor to the right.
