Description
Nos. 91 and 93 High Street are a pair of estate cottages built around 1880-1890 by W. Taylor of Bierton for Ferdinand de Rothschild. The cottages are constructed of red brick with a roughcast upper storey and feature a brick string course on the first floor. They have a tiled roof and brick chimneys with offset heads, located to the left and between the right bays, the latter of which includes pilasters.
The buildings are two storeys high and consist of three bays. On the ground floor, there are three-light wooden casements with segmental heads, while the first floor has a three-light casement to the left and a small gabled semi-dormer with an oriel window in the centre. A two-storey gabled porch projection between the left bays is half-timbered, with a tile-hung upper storey that jetties on beam ends. The porch features a boarded door flanked by single lights, with a three-light oriel window above. Between the right bays, the string course is broken upwards over a terracotta plaque displaying Rothschild badges. Additionally, the right side of the house has a single-storey gabled porch. These cottages are included for their group value.
