Description
The Dairy is a dairy building constructed around 1880-1890, likely designed by W. Taylor of Bierton as part of the estate for Ferdinand de Rothschild. It features a red brick core that is entirely surrounded by a verandah supported by shallow timber arches on turned wooden balusters and low brick dwarf walls. The building showcases ornamental half-timbering and tile-hanging in the gables, topped with a tiled roof.
This picturesque structure is one storey tall. The entry is located at the north end, flanked by single wooden casement windows. Each side wall contains three two-light wooden casements and an ornamental gable in the roof, with the gable on the west side featuring a wooden louvre.
Inside, there are steps leading down to a low room that is lined with white tiles. This room includes a low bench all around and a central stone basin supported by a carved baluster stem.
