Description

Grange Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, originally consisting of three bays on the left side, with a two-bay extension added in the early 18th century to the right, which formerly served as a dairy and grain store. The left bay has been rebuilt, and the two bays to the right display timber framing with curved and diagonal braces, all refaced in whitewashed brick. The rebuilt left bay is similarly constructed in brick. The extension has a timber frame and brick facing, dated 1797, with moulded eaves, also whitewashed. The roof is tiled, half-hipped to the left, and features a brick chimney between the left bays. The original part of the house is single-storey with an attic, and has two first-floor windows set within eaves-line dormers. The extension is two-storey. Windows are 20th-century 3-light wooden casements. A 20th-century gabled porch with a 20th-century door and flanking single lights is located in the third bay, and a further 20th-century door is in the right gable.
