Description

This is a late 18th-century building, originally a 17th-century house, and it now comprises two shops with living accommodation above. The brick facade of number 9 is whitewashed, while the rest exhibits dentilled eaves. The roof is covered in old tiles, with a slate-coped gable to the left and a brick stack to the right. The building is two storeys and has an attic. The right-hand bays have 20th-century shopfronts. The left-hand bay features a wide 19th-century sash window with a canted cornice above. On the first floor are four sash windows interspersed with blind panels; the sash window in number 7 has no glazing bars, while the panel to its right is painted. The remaining sash windows have glazing bars. A central attic dormer contains 20th-century casement windows. Number 7 has a semi-glazed door within a reeded surround, topped with a blank panel. The rear of the building features three gabled bays with timber framing.
