Description
Claypit Cottage is a house dating from the 17th to early 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The upper storey features a timber frame with regular rectangular panels of brick infill, while the ground floor has been rebuilt in brick. It has an old tile roof with brick chimneys located between the right bays and an external chimney on the left. The gable ends are tile-hung. The building is one storey and an attic high, with three bays. It has 20th-century leaded casement windows, which are three-light except for a two-light window in the upper right. The attic windows are set in gabled eaves-line dormers. There are two intermediate 20th-century doors. To the right, there is a brick and flint single-storey extension that was formerly outbuildings and features two casements. There are also rear extensions.
