Description
The stables located to the north of Primrose Farmhouse date from the mid-19th century. The main block is constructed from flint and brick, featuring cogged eaves and a hipped roof covered with old tiles, topped with a weathervane. This building has two storeys with irregular openings: there is a stable door and a loft door to the right of the center, a broad opening with boarding and a stable door to the left, and another stable door to the right. Each floor has two small two-light wooden windows, and the ground floor openings have cambered heads.
To the left is an L-plan range, which was partly a barn, built with a timber frame, weatherboard, and painted corrugated iron cladding, sitting on a brick plinth with slate roofs. This range has stable doors leading to the yard and a central cart entry to the road. To the right of the main block is a three-bay cartshed with an interlocking tile roof. The stables are included for their group value.
