Description

This is a farmhouse, likely dating from the late 17th century, with alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. The farmhouse is constructed of rendered stone with painted stone dressings, and has a stone slate roof. Originally double-fronted, a 19th-century bay was added to the left side. The former central entrance has a chamfered surround and a flat lintel, with a four-panel door, the upper half of which is glazed. The ground floor has a three-light double-chamfered mullioned window on either side, now with 20th-century metal casements, and a dripmould above. Two similar, slightly narrower windows are on the upper floor. There are decorative eaves modillions. There are three oval ridge stacks set on square bases, one to the right of centre, one at the right-hand gable end, and one at the former left-hand gable. A two-storey extension to the left has an entrance on its right side, which adjoins the former gable end wall of the farmhouse. This extension has one window per storey, with a two-light window on the upper floor that incorporates a re-used chamfered mullion, set within 20th-century casements. At the rear is a 19th-century continuous outshut built into the hillside.
