Description

This building is a barn called Hazel Haw, located approximately 75 meters north of Lunds Farmhouse. It is likely from the late 17th century or early 18th century and has been altered over time. The structure is made of large, roughly-coursed rubble that appears to be dry-jointed, except for the north gable wall, which is slobbered and features through-stones and large quoins. The roof is stone slate on the west side and slate on the east side.

The barn has a rectangular plan oriented on a north-south axis, with the former dwelling at the north end and a lean-to addition at the south end. The east front shows a vertical joint in the middle; the former dwelling on the right has an enlarged doorway and a small window next to it. The barn on the left features through-stones on three levels and a shippon doorway near the corner, while the lean-to has a similar doorway. The north gable wall includes large through-stones and a cut-down corbelled chimney. On the rear (west side), there is a blocked window or doorway from the former dwelling, a square window above it with a board door, and a loading doorway for the barn.

Inside, there is a tapered recess for a former smokehood that leads up to the corbelled chimney, which has a smoke-blackened stone bressumer. There are also remains of former plaster on the walls, but otherwise, the interior has been altered.
