Description

Foxwood Cottage, originally a farmhouse and now an education centre, dates from around 1700 and has undergone alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of limewashed rubble with painted stone dressings and features a stone slate roof. The entrance is located to the left of the centre and has a moulded surround with a decorated lintel; the door consists of four flush panels and is topped by a cyma moulded dripstone.

On the ground floor, there is a 19th-century window on the left and a two-light flat-faced mullioned window on the right. The upper floor has two former two-light flat-faced mullioned windows, which now have missing mullions and wooden casements, and are framed by mid-18th century surrounds. The eaves are shaped with modillions, and there is a projecting gable end stack on the right side.

Additionally, the right-hand return features a painted sundial with a cyma dripstone, although the gnomon is now missing. There is also a former two-light mullioned window on the upper floor with a missing mullion. At the rear, there is a continuous outshut. The interior is not accessible for viewing.
