Description
The forecourt wall to the Monkey Puzzle dates from the 18th century and is contemporary with the house. It is constructed from partly coursed, squared rubble and partly snecked stone, featuring chamfered coping. The gate on the west return has modern piers, while the east return is ramped. At the top of the wall, there is a decorative pierced cast-iron rail that stands approximately 1 foot high. This structure is included for its group value.
