Description
Rigg House West is a house built in the late 18th century and restored around 1900. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with ashlar dressings and features a stone slate hipped roof behind a parapet with ashlar coping, along with three stone stacks. The building is two storeys high. The south front has a slightly off-centre doorway with a six-panel door and overlight, flanked by single 12-pane sash windows. Above, there are two additional 12-pane sashes. The west front includes a bowed side projection with a sloping roof, featuring a single 9-pane casement window on each floor. Inside, the house retains a single stone fireplace with brackets that support the mantle shelf. Rigg House West is included for its group value with Rigg House.
