Description

Sunnybrow comprises two houses with a roof that was formerly a single structure, dating to the mid-to-late 18th century. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with a stone slate roof.

A central entrance is flanked by an additional door to the right. The two-storey facade has four first-floor windows. To the left is Sorrel Sykes, featuring an eight-panel door, the upper two panels glazed, set within a pilastered doorcase with a wide, plain frieze and a moulded cornice. A small, blocked window is contained within a chamfered surround to the immediate left of the door, and two sash windows with glazing bars are set within keyed (plastered) stone surrounds further to the left. To the right is Welbecks, with an eight-panel door and overlight in a plain stone surround, flanked by sash windows with glazing bars in plain stone surrounds. The first floor also has sash windows with glazing bars. The roofline features gable coping and shaped kneelers. A left-end stack has been rebuilt, with a ridge stack also present. Originally, the building was part of the local workhouse.
