Description
Old House adjoining Feetham Farmhouse is a house dated 1682 that was subsequently divided into two. It was restored in 1905 and is constructed of rubble with a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and a rear outshut. There are two first-floor windows and a central doorway that features an ashlar quoined surround and a triangular soffit to the lintel, which bears the inscription 'T C 1682 --'. To the right of the main doorway, there is an inserted doorway. The windows were originally mullioned, with a 20th-century restored four-light window on the ground floor. The outshut has been raised and enlarged, and there are substantial remains of a three-light window on the first floor to the right, along with other fragments that are now sash windows. There is a fire window on the left and end stacks. The rear of the house has a raised and enlarged outshut with stone surrounds to the windows, which were originally barred and had external shutters due to its location abutting the line of an old road. There is a deep cellar below. The interior reportedly features a large fireplace on the left, but it was inaccessible during the visit.
