Description

Scarr House is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed watershot sandstone and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and three bays. The openings are adorned with ashlar architraves that have hollow mouldings. The sash windows on the first floor are shorter than those on the ground floor. The central doorcase includes a pulvinated frieze beneath a simple classical cornice, and it has a four-panelled door. The house also has shaped kneelers, ashlar copings, and end stacks. There is a later byre on the left, which is not of special interest.
