Description

Hutchinson's Shop, now functioning as a Post Office, is an early 19th-century building located on the south side of East Witton Town. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a stone slate roof and stands two storeys high, featuring two first-floor openings. All openings are framed by large sandstone ashlar lintels, which have projecting sills for the windows. The central entrance consists of a louvred and boarded stable door. On the ground floor to the left, there is an 8-pane shop window, with a louvred opening above it. The right side of both floors is fitted with side-sliding sash windows. The left side of the building is topped with ashlar coping.
