Description
The stable, now used as a store, is located approximately 10 meters north of East Banks Farmhouse. It likely dates from the 18th century and has been altered over time. The building is constructed of random rubble with quoins and features a stone slate roof. It has a rectangular two-bay plan oriented on an east-west axis and consists of two low storeys.
On the south side, there are external steps leading up to a loft doorway, accompanied by a small square window to the left. The west gable includes a centrally located doorway with a stone lintel and a stone drip-course above it, a square six-pane window to the left, and a very small window to the right. Inside, there is a chimney-breast and fireplace on the first floor of the west gable end. This stable is part of a significant rural group that includes East Banks Farmhouse and a barn located to the west of the farmhouse.
