Description

Horsehouse Methodist Church is a Wesleyan Chapel dated 1828. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a stone slate roof and consists of one storey and two bays. The building features quoins and has central leaved doors set in an ashlar doorcase, which includes bases, pilaster capitals, and rounded inner corners to the lintel. Above the door, there is an ashlar plaque with a moulded frame inscribed "WESLEYAN CHAPEL AD 1828". The church has 16-pane sash windows with ashlar sills and lintels, and the roofline is finished with ashlar coping. On the right side, there are two pointed-arched windows with ashlar surrounds, small imposts, and keystones. The interior was likely reordered around 1870.
