Description
The Thwaite Arms Inn is an inn dated 1808, constructed from coursed rubble with a stone slate roof. It has two storeys and features two first-floor windows, with an added bay on the right side. The main range has quoins and a central part-glazed six-panel door set in an ashlar quoined surround with a moulded arris. Above the door is a plaque framed with moulding, inscribed with "J & MR 1808" and decorative motifs. The building has side-sliding sash windows, likely original, in ashlar surrounds that are moulded on the ground floor. There are end stacks, and to the right, there is a small ground-floor 20th-century window and a board door in an ashlar quoined surround with a deep lintel. The overall structure is topped with ashlar coping.
