Description
Browside Cottage is a small farmhouse, likely built in the mid to late 17th century, and has recently been renovated. It features a mixed random rubble construction with a stone slate roof. The building has a single-depth, three-bay plan and now includes a 20th-century outshut at the rear. It stands two low storeys tall and has three windows. A stone-slate band runs over the ground floor, stepping over the doorway located between the first and second bays.
On the ground floor, there is one two-light mullion window on the left and two on the right, all with restored chamfered mullions. The first floor has a similar window on the left and two windows on the right with altered glazing. A rebuilt stone chimney is located at the left gable. The right-hand gable wall is covered by a former barn that has been converted into a dwelling and is no longer included in this listing. The interior has been altered.
