Description

Spedding House and the attached barn to the south are a farmhouse and barn likely built in the early 18th century, with some alterations. The structure features slobbered random rubble with quoins, a stone slate roof on the house, and a slate roof on the barn, which is slightly higher than the house.

The house is two storeys tall and has a symmetrical three-window section and a two-window section to the right. The three-window portion includes an altered gabled porch that covers a doorway with a 20th-century glazed door, a blind window above the porch, and two six-pane hornless sash windows on each floor. The two-window section has two almost square six-pane sashes on each floor. All windows have raised sills, monolith lintels, and exposed boxes. There is a gable chimney on the left and a large square chimney at the junction with the barn.

The barn, which continues to the right, features irregularly arranged through-stones, a segmental-headed window, and a wide segmental-headed doorway at ground level, both with rubble voussoirs. There is a loading doorway above to the left that has been altered into a window, along with three slit breathers at the same level. At the rear, the house has a large 20th-century back extension, while the barn has a wagon doorway leading to the upper level. The interior has not been inspected.
