Description
Waitby Farmhouse is a house with a datestone from 1690, although it is likely mostly from the 18th century. The building is made of rendered rubble and has graduated slate roofs with kneelers, along with stone chimneys at the mid and east ends. It features a double pile plan with two storeys and five irregular bays. The garden front includes two 16-paned sash windows to the left of a 20th-century part-glazed door, with an initialled datestone next to a single sash window with glazing bars on the right. The first floor has two 16-paned sashes and two sashes with glazing bars. At the rear of the building, there are remains of a stone 4-light mullioned and transomed stair window. This farmhouse is included for its group value with the original 1690 farmhouse, which is now used as a barn.
