Description
The Leases is a farmhouse with attached buildings, dating from the late 18th century, with mid-19th century additions. It is constructed from coursed, squared rubble and features quoins. The graduated slate roof has stone copings and kneelers, with stone chimneys at each end of the house. The two-storey, three-bay house is limewashed. On the east side, the original central door has been blocked, and there are single sashes with glazing bars on either side, along with two 16-paned sashes above. An outshut was added to the west side in the 1840s, which includes a central door and two windows on each floor. The original barn has two doors on the west side and a large wagon entrance on the east, all with timber lintels. The south end of the range was added in 1847, as indicated by the date on the keystone above the segmental door-head on the west side, which provides access to a hay loft via steps on the east side.
