Description
The Dame School, now a dwelling, was built in 1780 by yeomen farmers of Raisbeck and underwent repairs in 1857. It was converted for residential use in the late 20th century. The building is constructed from coursed, squared rubble with quoins and features graduated slate roofs. It is two storeys high and has a single bay. There is an added lean-to porch with a plank inner door and a 20th-century window to the right, along with a small casement window above. A stone chimney is located at one end.
