Description
This is an early 18th century thatched farmhouse of red brick, situated on Church Road, Wickhampton. The house has a “T” shaped layout, originally consisting of three rooms with a later extension to the north. Most of the windows are 20th century casement types, with an aluminium sliding window and 20th century wedge-shaped dormers on the south side. The gables have brick kneelers, and a central axial stack. The interior largely reflects a conversion undertaken around 1980, although it retains 18th century bridging beams and open brick fireplaces, partially rebuilt with timber bressumers. The roof features a butt purlin structure, built in two phases. The building is listed for its group value, with the 20th century northern wing considered to be of no specific architectural interest.
