Description
The Manor House is a farmhouse dated 1783, constructed of red brick with a pantiled roof. It stands two storeys high and features a two-storey rear outshut along with two two-storey hipped rear wings. The facade has three windows and an off-centre six-panel entrance door. The door is framed by a timber doorcase that includes a moulded architrave with a key block and a pediment supported by consoles. The house has 20th-century three-light casements, with those on the ground floor including transoms, all set in original openings with segmental brick arches. The eaves are adorned with brick dentils, and there are parapet gables and end stacks.
Inside, the interior is mainly from the 20th century, but it retains some 18th-century features, including two-panel and six-panel raised and fielded doors. There is a relocated early 19th-century fireplace in the ground floor east room, complete with a cast iron grate. The kitchen contains an 18th-century 'bee hive' bread oven with a wrought iron door. The roof structure is a butt purlin design. The east gable is inscribed with "B.F. 1783."
