Description
Stone Cottage is an early 19th century cottage located on The Street in Halvergate. It is constructed of flint with brick dressings and features a thatched roof. The cottage has a lobby entrance plan and is 1½ storeys high, with a later single-storey rear outshut and a single-storey extension to the north. The gable wall contains re-used stone blocks. The facade has two windows and a central door, with 20th-century casements that include glazing bars and segmental brick arches. There are eyebrow dormers with two-light 20th-century casements. The gables have parapets with moulded brick kneelers, and there is a central axial stack. The south extension is made of brick with a flint plinth, featuring 20th-century casements, parapet gables, and a pantile roof. The cottage is included for its group value.
