Description
Boardman's Mill, also known as Skeleton Mill, is a late 19th-century trestle draining pump located at TG36941925 in Ludham. The mill features four timber cants that stand on brick piers, which are cross braced. It has a weatherboarded cap, stocks, and four sails, along with a fantail cage and blades. The structure includes a curb track, worm gear, and drive, as well as a brakewheel and wallower. An iron upright drive shaft extends down to a crown wheel, which is driven through a universal joint that engages a bevel wheel leading to a turbine pump. The pump is set in a brick well, and the sluices and culvert are intact.
