Description
Toad Hole Cottage is a house built around 1740, constructed of brick and thatch. It has one storey with an attic and an outshut, sitting on a flint plinth. The south elevation features two 19th-century casement windows with glazing bars and segmental arches, flanking a blocked doorway. The gables have parapets supported by corbelled kneelers and tumbling. There is an internal end stack on the gabled roof, and the north outshut has a pantiled roof. The interior remains intact, consisting of two service rooms, one of which has arched brick shelves, leading into a kitchen with opposed entry doors. The kitchen includes a large fireplace with a brick hob. A winder staircase to the right leads up to the attic bedrooms.
