Description
Nos. 138 and 139 are a pair of cottages dating from the 17th century. They are constructed with a timber frame and brick infill, topped with a thatched roof. The cottages are two stories high and consist of five bays, with a brick outshot at the left end. The timber frame is exposed, featuring diagonal braces in the left two bays. There is a door located in the central bay, which is from the 19th century. The windows are irregular casements from the 19th and 20th centuries, with an eyebrow dormer above a large 19th-century two-light casement in the bay to the left of the center. The roof is hipped and slopes down on the left side, adorned with a decorated ridge piece and a large central brick stack with multiple flues.
