Description

No. 140 is a cottage dating from the 17th century. It has a timber-frame structure with 20th-century brick infill and a thatched roof. The building is two stories high and consists of three bays, with an outshot at each end. There is a central projecting porch with a thatched hip roof, added in the 20th century. The windows are irregular casements from the 19th and 20th centuries. The roof is hipped and sweeps down over the outshots, featuring thatched hip dormers. A decorated ridge piece and a central brick ridge stack complete the roof design.
