Description
Nos 3 and 4 East Street is a pair of houses dating from the early 19th century. They are constructed with painted mathematical tiles and feature a modillioned cornice above a plain tiled roof, which has end stacks on both the left and right sides and two dormers—one segment-headed on the left and one flat-headed on the right. The buildings rise three storeys with attics and have a slightly irregular two-window front. The second floor on the left has two cashes without glazing bars, while the right has a bipartite sash also without glazing bars. On the first floor, there are canted oriel bays with moulded cornices on both sides, and the ground floor features two tripartite sashes. The central entrances are paired and have panelled doors; the left door has an upper pair of glazed panels, all set within a common pilastered surround that is divided by a central entrance and topped with a flat entablature hood.
