Description

The Woollgar tomb, located 4 yards south of the Church of St John the Baptist, is a monument dating from 1762. It is constructed of dressed stone and features a slightly chamfered base, panelled sides, and a heavy lid with a hip. Although it is smaller than a typical chest tomb, it is of equal height. The tomb is inscribed to Thomas Woollgar, who died in 1762.
