No 2 Upper Lord's Place

Barn and hovel. C18. Timber-framed and weaterboarded with slate roof, half- hipped to north. Ridge stack to north and stack on slope to front at left of large slopinghead dormer. Deep catslide to front with three-light iron casement to left of panelled door, with two odd windows to right and doubled garage doors to far right. Left return front: 2 storeys and garret; single window in garret, 2 windows on first floor with boarded string over and single window on ground floor to right of boarded door with flat hood on brackets over. All windows cast-iron diamond-glazed casements. Small shed-block projecting from this front to left of centre. Interior of barn to south: 2 bays, aisled to west only. Posts with rounded jowls. Queen strut roof with stepped purlings. Formerly much longer, the barn seems to have had the hovel built in during the late C18 or early C19.
