Description

The remains of the curtain wall of Lewes Castle date back to the 12th century. This structure is built of flint with some red brick dressings and coping, especially noticeable in the upper part facing the Bowling Green Car Park. The wall is banked against with earth on both sides, leaving only about 8 feet exposed. It stretches approximately 60 yards in length.
