Description

Nos 3 and 4 North Street are a pair of early 19th-century houses, now used as shops. They have a slate roof with a wooden eaves soffit and mathematical tiles, featuring an end stack on the left and a ridge stack on the right. A flat-headed dormer window with a margin-light sash window is located on the left side. There are three storeys and an attic on the left, and a two-window front. A single-storey canted bay is present on the first floor to the left, while a two-storey canted bay is on the right. A margin-light sash window is on the second floor to the left. The shopfront to the left has a double width with an inset glazed door. The shopfront to the right has doubled half-glazed doors on the extreme right. A pair of panelled doors with transom lights are located in the centre. All ground-floor features, except the shopfront to the left, are framed by slim pilasters. A low cast-iron rail with decorative brackets tops the ground floor.
