Description

The Cranny and Jessamine are a pair of cottages dating from the early and mid-19th century. Located on Church Lane, Easton, they are constructed of brick with a slate roof. The Cranny, the earlier of the two, is a two-bay cottage. It features a central four-panel door set within a solid frame and sheltered by a flat hood. Flanking the door are wide sixteen-pane sashes, with wider twelve-pane sashes above. The Jessamine cottage was added slightly later to the right. It has a four-panel top-lit door surrounded by an arched yew hedge, with wide twelve-pane sashes on either side and wider nine-pane sashes above. All openings are characterised by segmental heads. The roof is continuous and has a rear outshot with stacks at each end of each cottage. The Jessamine cottage is included in the listing for group value.
