Description
East View is a small house located on Church Lane in Easton, built in the early to mid 18th century, with its front rebuilt in the late 19th century. The house is constructed of brick featuring blue headers and has an old plain tile roof. The early 18th-century section of the building faces the road, with a later wing extending to the rear on the left side.
The front of the house is two stories high with an attic above a cellar, comprising three bays. The front wall was rebuilt in the 19th century. A central 18th-century top-lit six-panel door is topped by a bracketed flat hood. Flanking the door are 19th-century three-light windows with transoms set in segmental heads. A string course runs along the first floor, where there are 19th-century three-light transomed windows on either side of a 20th-century two-light window, which occupies a previously blank central opening. Panels of blue headers are located between all the openings.
On the roof, near each end, there are two flat-roofed dormers, and gable end stacks, with the stack on the right positioned in front of the ridge.
