Description
Brook Cottage is a cottage that dates from the 17th, 18th, and 20th centuries. The walls are made of coursed malmstone with brick quoins and a plinth, and it features timber-framed gables, one of which is tile-hung. The roof is thatched, with a half-hipped design and a catslide at the rear, along with eyebrow dormers. This is a lobby-entrance house with timber-framed origins, and it has cladding and extensions added in the late 18th century and late 20th century. The north-west front has one storey and an attic, with three windows, casements, and one French door. There is a boarded door set in a plain frame. The rear has flat-roofed additions with polygonal malmstone walls and brick dressings. Inside, some of the frame is exposed, and there is an original staircase next to a massive chimney-breast.
