Description

Walnut Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, with restoration work carried out in the 20th century. The older part of the building has exposed timber framing with stone infill, while the later addition has walls of malmstone with brick dressings, including quoins and cambered arches. The roof is tiled and half-hipped, with hipped dormers. The cottage is arranged in two phases, forming a T-shape. The south front, representing the later phase, is of one storey and attic, with a two-over-three window arrangement. It features casement windows and a plain doorway with a gabled hood supported by brackets. A shafted stack is located at the rear.
