Description

Farewells is a mid-18th century house, originally two cottages. The walls are largely brick, constructed in a Flemish bond with blue headers. A first-floor band sits above a plinth set on a malmstone base. The end walls are of brick and malmstone with brick dressings, while the rear walls are boarded. The roof is tiled.

The symmetrical south-east front has two storeys and three windows. It features casement windows and a 20th-century classical doorcase with a moulded hood on brackets and an architrave.

Inside, exposed timber-framing is visible between the main part of the house and a former single-storeyed rear section, originally beneath a catslide roof.
