Description

This is a wall with a niche for a seat, built around 1816, located 30 meters northeast of Marwell Hall. The wall is made of brick with some flint and is connected to the northeast corner of the house. It curves in a semi-circle to run eastward. The brickwork is plain, featuring brick-on-edge coping and buttresses at 10-meter intervals along the rear. Near the house end, there are three pointed doorways. Halfway along the wall, there is a wide depressed arch with blue brick springing, which has a niche behind it. This niche is covered by a tiled roof and contains a garden seat. The wall ramps up on either side to form a parapet above the arch, also with blue brick coping.
