Description
Rose Cottage is a building that was originally two dwellings, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. The wing features walls made of malmstone ashlar, with brick quoins and cambered arches, while the other walls are constructed of brickwork in Flemish bond. The roof is tiled, hipped at the south end and half-hipped at the crosswing, with a shafted stack. The cottage has timber-framed origins, with late 18th-century cladding of brick and stone, and an early 19th-century crosswing at the north end. The front of the building, facing southwest, has two storeys and an attic, with one storey and two windows above one and three windows below. The windows are casements, and there are two plain doorways, one of which has a half-glazed door.
