Description
The Lines (Queens Annex) is an 18th-century store located on the east side of High Street in Selborne. The building features walls made of ashlar malmstone with brick quoins and a stepped plinth band. It has coupled openings with metal bars and a casement window in the south wall. The hipped tiled roof includes hipped dormers with louvres at each end and extends forward to create a forecourt canopy supported by four posts. The symmetrical front faces southwest and consists of one storey with two windows and an attic window at each end, along with a central plain door. At the rear, there is a small extension and a rear door. In front of the building, two old lime trees remain, the last of four planted by Gilbert White in 1756 to obscure the view of blood and filth from the windows of his house across the street.
