Description

Plestor House is a house located on High Street in Selborne. It was built in the late 18th century and underwent renovations and alterations around 1900. The building features ashlar malmstone walls with brick quoins, a first-floor band, rubbed flat arches, and a plinth that is broken in the center. The roof is half-hipped at the north end and hipped at the south, with brick dentil eaves.

The front of the house, which faces northwest, has two storeys and four windows, with sashes set in exposed frames, including one in the former doorway. The southwest elevation facing the High Street, dating from around 1900, is symmetrical with two storeys and three widely spaced windows. This elevation also has roughly-coursed malmstone walls with brick quoins, a first-floor cill band, rubbed flat arches, and a plinth. The sashes are again in exposed frames.

There is a wide doorway from around 1900, which has a recess beneath a cornice and features a window on each side of the nine-panelled door, accessed by three steps with curved fronts in the center. A high wall extends southward from the building, with the lower part made of malmstone and the upper part constructed in brickwork of rat-trap bond. The rear elevation shows two unequal gables and a pyramid roof above an extension.
