Description

The Old Vicarage is a house dating to circa 1845. It is constructed of ashlar malmstone with hood-moulds and a plinth. The roof is slate, featuring decorative bargeboards to the gables, and stacks with diagonal flues above rectangular bases. The house is in a ‘Tudor’ style, with a small attachment of older origin to the west side. The symmetrical front (south) has two large gables with a smaller central gable. There are two storeys and an attic, with five windows, featuring casements. A gabled Gothic porch has a moulded arch and double boarded doors. The rear (north) elevation is similar, with a two-storeyed bay at the east side. To the west, a smaller, lower building is two-storeyed, with a hipped tile roof, malmstone walls with brick dressings, 20th-century windows, and a small late 19th-century extension to the west side.
